Most real estate clients start their search online. This means that potential home buyers could be lurking around virtually, waiting for pictures of your beautiful home to pop up. That said, it’s important to make first impressions count as much as possible so that your future client will be compelled to pick up the phone. Here a reliable real estate photography company shares some tips on how to prepare your home for the best photos possible.
Front Exterior & Backyard
Your home’s front exterior and backyard space are essential elements that contribute to curb appeal, and are usually the first photos that home buyers take a look at.
When your real estate photos are scheduled to be taken, remove cars from the driveway and make sure that all garage doors are closed. Spend time cleaning up and tidying your garden and landscaping. Mow the lawn, trim shrubs and clear leaves. Remember to put gardening tools such as the water hose, hand trowel and weeder in storage. Clean the porch and position tables, chairs and cushions appropriately. if you have a pool, make sure that it’s free of toys, balls and frisbees and that the water is sparkling clean.
Kitchen & Dining Room
A videography company will need a clear view of the kitchen as well as the pathway to the dining area. First, remove any dirty dishes from the sink and place them in the dishwasher. You also need to clear the front surface of your refrigerator of magnets and photos. Then, clear and polish tables, countertops and islands. Adding decorative items, such as a bouquet of flowers, can be a bonus. Make sure to straighten chairs and space them evenly. Ultimately, don’t forget to remove booster seats, as they may dintrrupt the uniformity of the dining space.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Make the bed and set out ornamental pillows and sheets. Remember to clear nightstands of all personal items and remove clutter from the top of dressers. You also shouldn’t include family photos since you’re aiming to simplify things for all interested parties so they can imagine themselves in the space.
As for the bathroom, clear countertops completely. This means no soap, shampoo or toothbrushes lying around. Close all cabinet doors and put the toilet seat down. Finally, use clean, new towels for added decoration.
